Are you planning your next motorcaravan trip to Slovenia? That is really a great choice!
Among the greenest countries in the world, Slovenia lends itself very well to being visited in a motorcaravan. In fact, throughout the country there are more than 152 resting areas for motorcaravans and vans, even in the most interesting locations.
This holiday is suitable for both couples who enjoy on the road holidays and large families with children.
Before deciding which part of the country you want to visit, be aware that Slovenia can be divided into 4 macro areas depending on the attractions you are looking for.
Ljubljana and Central Slovenia
They can be considered as the starting point for those who embark on a journey to this beautiful country for the first time. The capital, Ljubljana, is full of culture and countless festivals and events that take place throughout the year. Don’t forget to take a picture on the famous “Dragon Bridge”: without visiting it you can not say you really saw the city. Last year, Ljubljana has also won the “European Best Destination 2022” contest.
Alpine Slovenia
As the name says, it is made up of mountains and hills, all within easy reach. Once in the area, all you have to do is to choose between rivers, lakes, the waterfalls of the Julian Alps, the Kamnik and Savinja Alps and the Pohorje Massif. Among the many naturalistic destinations, the most famous is certainly that of Lake Bled: a tourist pearl on the edge of the Triglav National Park. Here you can visit the oldest castle in the country which rises about 130 meters above the lake.
Thermal Pannonian Slovenia
Among the sunny hills covered in vineyards, there are several natural spas. One name among many: Dobrna, where you can find the oldest spa in Slovenia, active since 1403 and boasting more than 610 years of history. Archaeological findings show that Dobrna and its thermal waters were already known to the Celts and the Romans.
Mediterranean and Karst Slovenia
The scent of salt, sea and fresh fish. This is how you can describe this slovenian area overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Along the coast, passing through Piran and Portorož, the Municipality of Izola and Koper, but also the Karst and the Vipava Valley, you will enjoy a holiday of taste and relaxation.
Portorož and Piran
The most famous coastal towns of Slovenia are located a few kilometres from Trieste and welcome tourists with equipped beaches and an enchanting sea. Also worth mentioning is the “town of a hundred suns”, Koper, so renamed because of the characteristic decorations on the Venetian palaces that crowd its historic center.
REST AREAS IN THE COUNTRY
Rest areas in Slovenia are divided into three groups. Temporary rest areas without refueling and for short breaks. Rest areas with partial refueling and finally more and more areas that offer to motorcaravan owners rich infrastructure and everything necessary for a convenient stop for several days.

CAMPSITES
If you have a greener spirit and you like to wake up surrounded by greenery and singing birds, you can choose from the vast network of campsites, about 117, scattered around Slovenia.
Most of them have well-organized road links and host excellent infrastructure within them.
We suggest you to take this trip in spring, taking advantage of the mild climate, but remember that Elnagh vehicles are designed to follow you even in winter.
A van from the E-Van Premium range or a compact motorcaravan like Elnagh Baron 531 will definitely make the journey more dynamic.
